Age 91, of Concordia of the South Hills, formerly of Scott Township (Birdland), passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, February 24, 2026.
Beloved wife of the late James R. Lersch; devoted mother of James R. Lersch Jr. (Patty) and Jeffrey J. Lersch (Lori); proud grandmother of Jessica, Jeffrey Jr., and Alexandra; great-grandmother of Genevieve and Finley; sister of the late William "Buzz" Bogler and Ray "Tim" Bogler; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Born on February 2, 1935, at West Penn Hospital, Barbara was a true Pittsburgher at heart. She was raised in Homewood, attended St. Bede Elementary School, and graduated from St. Paul Cathedral High School (now Oakland Catholic High School). She met the love of her life on a blind date, and she and Jim went on to share 52 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2007.
A long-time member of Our Lady of Grace Church, Barbara was active in parish life and deeply grounded in her faith. She was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed several other card games throughout her life, continuing to play until recently — a reflection of her sharp mind, competitive spirit, and love of friendship. Barbara remained engaged, independent, and full of life until the very end, always enjoying time with family and friends and staying connected to the community she loved.
